The permanence of giclée prints depends on variety of factors, inks and paper used, amount of exposure to light, to UV radiation or time periods in contact with pollutants in the air.
Therefore, any work exposed to light, should be framed with museum quality materials and protected with an acrylic, preferably UV filtere, thereby sealing around the perimeter to keep out air, moisture and contaminants.
As a general rule could be stated that the life of a giclée print would exceed the life of its owner, provided that minimal care is taken when handled, exhibited or archived.
